MY MUSIC MIX <> MY 3 FAVORITE BRAZILIAN SONGS

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zsFSHg2hxbc

Para homenagear este post de antigos songs brasileiros, usei como abertura uma canção do nordeste (onde impera a seca e seus  dramas), que acabou virando uma canção de FESTAS JUNINAS.

To pay homage to this post of old Brazilian songs, I used as an opening a song from the Northeast (where drought and its dramas reign), serves as a song for ours JUNE FESTIVALS, something much celebrated in Brazil from North to South, or  Saint John Festivals.

1. ASA BRANCA (WHITE WING)
2. VIAGEM (TRAVEL)
3. TOCANDO EM FRENTE (MOVING ON) > MY FAVORITE

See below the translation of the lyrics of the 3 songs and other details:

LYRICS OF "WHITE WING"

When I saw the earth burning
Like a bonfire of St. John
I asked the sky's God, whoa
Why such cruelty?
I asked God in heaven, why
Why such cruelty?
What a brazier, what a fire
Not a foot of grass
For plenty of water I lost my cattle
My sorrel died of thirst
For plenty of water I lost my cattle
My sorrel died of thirst
Even the white wing
Beat wings of the sertão
(sertão = backlands)
Then I said: goodbye, Rosinha
(Rosinha = girl name "little Rose")
Keep my heart with you
So long I said: Goodbye, Rosy
Keep my heart with you
Today far away, many leagues
In a sad loneliness
I wait for the rain to fall again
For me to return to my backwoods
I'm waiting for the rain to fall again
For me to return to my sertão
When the green of your eyes
Spread out on the plantation
I assure you, don't cry, don't cry
I'll be back, you see, my heart
I assure you, don't cry, don't cry, don't cry, don't cry
I'll be back, I'll be back, I'll be back, I'll be back, I'll be back, my heart.

LYRICS OF "TRAVEL"

Oh! sorry sorrow
I'm packed and ready to go
Today the poetry
Has come to meet me
The day has dawned

Let's travel
We're going for a ride
On the light crutch
Of the soft wind
That's coming along
From far away
From the end of the sea

Let's visit the star
Of the bright morning
That I thought lost
In the dawn
But which is hidden
Wanting to play
Sit on this clear cloud
My poetry
Come get ready
Bring a song
Let's spread it around
Music in the air

Look how many white birds
My poetry
Dance our waltz
Through the sky that the day
Is all embroidered
Of sunbeams
Poetry help me
I'm going to pick avencas
Lilies, roses, dahlias
Through the green fields
That you christen
As gardens of heaven

But you can rest assured
My poetry
For we shall return
In a guiding star
In a moonlit glow
When it brightens
Or maybe even who knows
We'll only come back
On the bay horse
On the sorrel of the night
Whose name is lightning
Moonbeam

MY  ABSOLUTE FAVORITE

I walk slowly because I was once in a hurry - Moving On

LYRICS OF "MOVING ON"

I walk slowly
Cause I've been in a hurry
And I carry this smile
Because I've cried too much

Today I feel stronger
Happier, who knows
I only take the certainty
That I know very little
Or know nothing at all

To know the mornings
And the mornings
The taste of pasta
And apples

It takes love
To be able to pulsate
You need peace to be able to smile
It takes rain to bloom

I think that to fulfill life
Is simply
To understand the march
And keep moving forward

Like an old drover
Carrying the herd
I'll be ringing out the days
Down the long road, I go
Road I am

Knowing the mornings
And the mornings
The taste of pasta
And the apples

It takes love
To be able to pulsate
You need peace to be able to smile
It takes rain to bloom

Everybody loves one day
Everybody cries
One day we arrive
and the next day goes away

Each of us makes up our own story
And each being carries the gift of being capable
Of being happy

To know the mornings
And the mornings
The taste of pasta
And the apples

It takes love
To be able to pulsate
You need peace to be able to smile
You need rain to bloom

I walk slowly
Because I've been in a hurry
And I carry this smile
Because I've cried too much

Each of us makes up our own story
And each being in himself carries the gift of being able
And to be happy

Composed by Almir Sater and Renato Teixeira
